Even the “Good Hombres” are not Safe

Andres Magana Ortiz, a businessman in Hawaii and father of three U.S. citizens, has lived in the United States for 28 years and was recently ordered removed from the country. Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt commented against the Trump administration and the decision made on this man’s case, saying that “the government’s decision to remove Magana Ortiz diminishes not only our country but our courts, which are supposedly dedicated to the pursuit of justice.” Since President Trump took office, other judges have also criticized the administration’s crackdown on immigration in addition to repeatedly blocking his immigration and travel policies.

Andres Magana Ortiz, empresario en Hawaii y padre de tres ciudadanos estadounidenses, ha vivido en los Estados Unidos por 28 años y recientemente fue ordenado deportado del país. Un juez de la Corte de Apelaciones del Noveno Circuito Stephen Reinhardt comentó contra la administración de Trump y la decisión tomada en el caso de este hombre, diciendo que “la decisión del gobierno de deportarlo hace a un lado no sólo los valores de nuestro país, sino a nuestras cortes, que se supone que están dedicadas a buscar la justicia.” Desde que el Presidente Trump tomó cargo, otros jueces también han criticado las medidas severas tomadas por la administración en cuestiones de inmigración además de repetidamente cerrar paso a su política migratoria y de viaje.
